strathcona park lodge wedding.
karen & russell’s wedding day was truly incredible. One of the most heartfelt & tender unions i’ve had the opportunity to witness & photograph. The love these two share is tangible & true. Rooted in the earth & the ocean, grounded & fluid, deep, abiding & very beautiful. And so was their day. Storm clouds gathered & passed, the wind whipped up while they spoke their vows, the sky cleared & the moon shone bright, asView full post »

kaylie & chad were married in the backyard they share with kaylie’s parents. A lot of work went into making the grounds as beautiful as they were on their day. A lot. The forecast called for rain but the sun shone in spite of it. Kaylie got ready with her girls at the beautiful tigh na mara resort &, after their heartfelt ceremony, i got to follow kaylie & chad through rathtrevor park for some time together amongst the old growth trees, the meadows & beach. tamara & kyle’s awesome merridale cidery duncan bc wedding.
i first met tamara & kyle two summer’s ago when tamara was the maid of honour at keeley & chris’ wedding. The love & spark between kyle & her was infectious even then. And now, 2 years later, i was honoured to capture their own walk into marriage. It was tons of fun to reconnect with their fabulous group of friends & to meet their wonderfully supportive families. claire & will’s wedding celebration took many turns, from a weekend-long bash to a far-away elopement. Until one day their plans settled, close to home, surrounded by their families (& 1 dear friend), who traveled from many corners of the world to come witness their day. And it was perfect. The closeness & intimacy they all share made the world feel small, connected, whole. And i was honoured & grateful to be welcomed so warmly, into the circle of love & support thatView full post »

lisa’s very first emails made me smile. A lot. And i don’t think i stopped smiling once on their wedding day. Well, maybe a little, to cry, during their amazing ceremony, at lisa’s parents’ beautiful home on shawnigan lake. Together with their fabulous celebrant, barbara densmore, they crafted a wonderfully unique, completely fitting ceremony for their wedding day. Their vows were heartfelt & true, a lovely combination of very funny & very beautiful, a littleView full post »
caitlin & drew are a bit of magic. Truly. They have a spark, intelligence, grace & enthusiasm that is a little mesmerizing & a whole lot of fun to be swept up in. And so was their wedding day. Celebrated at the laid-back splendor of seabreeze lodge on hornby island, caitlin & drew & their crew filled the island with their joy & kindness, leaving trails of love & wonder like footprints behind them. As caitlin’s mom so beautifully said in her toast to the brideView full post »

a look back at some of the moments, many of the faces, the feelings, the promises, love, laughter & joy i was blessed to witness last year.
to each of the couples who invited me along & trusted me to capture your wedding story, thank you. I am so honoured & so much richer for having witnessed your walk into marriage. I am deeply, immensely grateful for the opportunity to be immersed in such days of delight, of love shared, of vows spoken, of hearts wide open with the wonder of itView full post »
lynne & jay wanted their photographs to capture the spirit of their wedding day – their love & joy of being together, of sharing their days with their little man henry, of having their dearest friends & family around them to celebrate their walk into marriage, of all the mingling & dancing & getting-to-know-one-another, the beauty of hornby island, the casual fabulousness of seabreeze lodge, the music of amani marimba & how they call us to move, the speeches thatView full post »
i first met up with anne & heidi for their engagement/celebration session last may (you can see all the fun we had here). And because they live in ontario, & their wedding was set for this august, i’ve had to wait over a year to reconnect with them both in person. So worth the wait! All the ease & fun & love i experienced with them during their engagement, was out in full force on the day they walked together into marriage. It was such a sweet day – totally laidView full post »
