Call me bias, but i do love a gulf island wedding… & megan & spencer’s quadra island wedding was the epitome of why. Their laid back, seemingly effortless grace & open-heartedness, wrapped in a stunning coastal environment, at a lodge set at the edge of the sea, a fantastic gathering of family & friends, all the love & warmth & caring, made it a pure pleasure to witness & document. Lucky me. It was a summer of sunshine. And the sun shone hot & bright on their beautiful wedding day as we wandered out to rebecca spit provincial park for some fun & photos with their wedding tribe – cold water, tall trees, rocky beaches – so much lovely everywhere we looked. They said their vows overlooking the georgia straight in front of the tsa kwa luten lodge. The lodge was filled with amazing coastal art from local first nations’ artists, great food, beautiful venue & wonderful people sharing a day overflowing with tenderness.
I am beyond honoured, megan & spencer, that you invited me along to photograph your walk into marriage. And i wish you nothing less than heaps of love & happiness on the amazing journey ahead of you. With deepest gratitude to you both.
I had the great pleasure of photographing megan’s sister’s wedding at seabreeze lodge on hornby island in 2011. You can see laura & gerry’s wedding here.
