victoria newborn photographer | len valentine

heading to victoria + spending time with baby lenny & his happy mama & papa + snapping a few newborn photos = a whole lot of happy for this photographer/grandma. How’d i get so lucky? wee lenny is as sweet as they come… all cooing & gurgling, sweet lip pursing, open eyed wonder & still sleepy, sleepy newborn loveliness. Such a whole lot of yum. And fun. His parents are settling happily into their newfound roles & routine, hearts full & much delight &View full post »

victoria birth photographer | brand new

it’s an incredible gift to get to be a part of watching someone grow up. To have been given the opportunity to love & care for little people who weren’t born of my body but were certainly born in my heart & mind. Whose lives have helped shape mine & whose love has shone light in my darkest corners & made my bright spots a little brighter. And then to get to see them all grown up, in love with someone amazing, married & one day, one very special day, toView full post »

tess…

The other day tess & i took a walk around helliwell. And she was happy to have me bring my camera (which doesn’t happen a lot these days). She likes us to have our time to ourselves & not have me behind the lens. I get it. So i’m grateful to capture some of these moments when all is well in our world & she’s shining, as she does… view full post hereView full post »

hornby island photographer | mccartys

Now & then i get the opportunity to be a photographer right here at home, on hornby island. Better yet with a sweet family who are also good friends. And then when everything unfolds rather perfectly… helliwell park in the early evening, beautiful light, the lingering warmth of summer, fabulous people, good connections, a whole lot of lovely & it all leads to some sweet captures, i’m left wondering, how’d i get to be so lucky? view full post hereView full post »

gabriola wedding | jason & michelle

in july i made the journey over to gabriola island to photograph jason & michelle’s incredible wedding celebration. The day started with silent meditation, yoga & guru puja. All sprinkled with the laughter, curiosity & inclusiveness of small children. This was a gathering that honoured family, young & old, & the beauty of connectedness with the kinship of friends. There was good food, amazing locations, beautiful flowers, some rain, bright sunshine, heartfeltView full post »

comox valley family photographer | kareen & co.

i had so much fun wandering around the Filberg in Comox with kareen & co. photographing a little of the love & laughter they all share. We missed you russell & france! here’s a little of the fun… view full post hereView full post »

comox valley engagement | jenn & doug

i first met jenn & doug in vancouver & had a great time finding out about their lives together, their hikes & travels far from the madding crowds & their plans for their upcoming summer wedding at comox lake. hornby island family photographer | the youngs

i had SO much fun photographing this fantastic hornby family. karen & jed & their 2 littles are a fabulous part of our hornby community… they host easter egg hunts on their beautiful farm, hook up an incredible rig to tow all the kids around the neighbourhood on halloween & give a lot back to this place. We’re lucky to have them, as neighbours & friends. Jed bought karen this session for her birthday & so, lucky me, i got to spent the afternoon bathed inView full post »

it’s always a gift to be asked to photograph new babes. Those first few days or weeks with a new being in the world, family changes, deep love.
