sooke wedding

a sooke prestige oceanfront resort wedding…

stephanie & cam gathered their tribe of love & support, of family & friends, of laughter & tears at the prestige oceanfront resort in sooke to witness & celebrate their walk into marriage. And what a walk it was; full of grace, honesty, humour & heart opening sharing & commitment. Their ceremony was crafted & created by the two of them & the oh-so-talented-&-lovely barbara densmore. Honest & true. Everything was tender & sweet. And then the kilts came out. And that somehow seemed to bring it all to another level. A reception full of fun, stories shared, an unexpected love song, heaps of love & happiness.

stephanie & cam, it was nothing short of a delight to follow you through your wedding day. And i wish you nothing less than all that love, joy & wonder we witnessed as you journey through the world as husband & wife.

comox valley bc wedding

mikhaila & marc were married under the beautiful trees & next to the ocean at the oh-so-lovely filberg lodge. The sun shone bright & they day was as sweet & lovely as those who gathered to witness & celebrate their walk into marriage. There were a lot of tears, even more laughter, heartfelt connections, great friends & such beautiful moments shared. A walk to the comox marina with their dear fur friend lemons & a wander through the macdonald wood gave us some time to capture the tenderness, humour & love mikhaila & marc share. They ate & danced & celebrated into the night at the fabulous martine’s bristro. A perfect space for an intimate wedding.

mikhaila & marc, the joy & sweetness of your wedding day, of all the love that was shared lives on in me still. And i find myself smiling as much working through these photos as i did as you walked into marriage. And my life is all the richer for that. So a big thank you to you both for having me along & sharing your day so openly with me. And today, i’m happy to share a little of all of that, with all of you…

dolphins resort wedding photographer

a dolphins resort wedding…

dolphins resort, just outside campbell river bc, is one of the loveliest venues for a west coast wedding. And almost all the more beautiful in the rain.

charlotte & simon are from england & have come & made their home in vancouver; the beauty of the ocean & mountains has caught them in their spell. And they wanted to gather their family & friends from here & overseas in a beautiful place that shines with all they love about the coast of bc. And they found it most perfectly at dolphins. A laid-back, easy-going vibe, rustic-charming cabins nestled amongst the trees, on the edge of the ocean overlooking the straight to quadra island, a dining room twinkling with candle light & mirrors, seaplanes flying by & some warm summer rain to add to the charm.

& what a day it was – a beautiful reflection of the love, delight & shared wonder these two possess. All was sweet & easy; there was always laughter to be heard, tears of shared joy & gratitude, so much support & caring, a love deep & tangible, & some seriously amazing moves on the dance floor.

charlotte & simon, it was nothing short of wonderful getting to wander through your day with you. May these photos shine with a little of the love & beauty you have swirling within & around you. And heartfelt happiness to you both.

gulf island wedding photographer

richelle & yasha were married on one of the gulf islands’ quiet gems, denman island, & their rustic farm wedding celebrated their beautiful union & also the union of 2 communities, 2 neighbouring islands – denman & hornby. They met in high school, taking the bus to & from courtenay, shared friendships, a love of the natural world, the beach, the mountains, a few parties. A few years after becoming sweethearts, they walked into marriage on yasha’s family’s farm, the very beautiful east cider orchard. Many months of hard work went into making this working farm a beautiful wedding venue, a huge team effort. And that effort carried through on their wedding day, when after many weeks of hot dry weather, the sky opened up & the rains fell. Hard. And their plans shifted from an outdoor reception to an indoor gathering. It was amazing to stand back & watch how their team of family & friends met the challenges, emptied out & cleaned up a huge workshop, tarped the outdoor areas, set up & tarped the bandstand, moved, shuffled, decorated &, united, created an amazing venue for us all to gather & celebrate richelle & yasha’s walk into marriage.

i often think that how a couple meets the challenges of a wedding day says a lot about how they’ll meet the challenges of a marriage. And these 2 amazing people met them head on, not without some disappointment, but with open hearts, a willingness to shift gears, a lot of hard work & with the fabulous support of family & friends. That says a lot. About them. And about the strength of the community they have around them.

richelle & yasha, i have full confidence we will be celebrating your amazing wedding day for many, many years to come. And all those heartfelt, tender moments, the laughs, love & group support & energy will live on in our collective hearts & minds. Thank you for sharing all of that, all of you, so openly, so warmly with all of us. Deepest love & happiness to you both.
