amanda & jared walked into marriage, surrounded by their closest family & friends, with their uber-cute 2 year old son & a new baby on the way. Their day was as sweet as they are. Jared waited patiently for amanda to arrive (he’s used to it & she walked down the aisle to ‘waiting on a woman’) & their day unfolded with ease & a lot of laughter. These two know each other so well & the love they share was a joy to witness & be around.

there is something so poignantly beautiful about a pregnant bride. The opportunity to celebrate two grand adventures in one big day. These shots were taken at the end of our time together on amanda & jared’s wedding day. They capture a hint of the beauty amanda radiated on her sunny day. Many more from their day to come.View full post »
selena & chris gathered together with their families & closest friends at the gorgeous poets cove resort on south pender island to celebrate their walk into marriage. They met working on cruise ships & wanted a venue that spoke both to their love of nature & their connection with the sea. And they found a perfect match with the oceanfront beauty of poets cove. On top of that, many of the details of their day were hand-crafted by selena & family or purchased on etsy –View full post »

valerie & michael gathered their family & friends at the fabulous strathcona park lodge to celebrate their walk into marriage. The lodge has a rustic, laid-back vibe tucked in between the beauty of strathcona park & buttle lake. And valerie & michael are as easy-going as the place those chose to gather. Their day unfolded with grace, joy & so much love, & all of it wrapped in the warmth of the summer sunshine. It was aView full post »

i’ve been posting a lot of personal photos the last few weeks. I’m quickly closing in on my wedding season & soon will have very little time to focus on my own personal shooting. Although far from treeplanting, photography, at least in my world, still has some of the ebbs & flows of seasonal work that i know so well.
in keeping with that, here’s a little wander through a day last week, spent with family down at our dear friends’ andrea & david & the homeView full post »

a dear friend, a personal challenge, a new discovery. And wrapped up within it all, i find a new session offering unfolding… and the words that keep coming to mind are ‘truth & beauty’. Celebrating the beauty of the truth of who we are, without the big hair & makeup, without fancy lighting, nothing added on, a few things taken away, a softness, a vulnerability, a part of ourselves shared. Truth & beauty. And emmy…View full post »
