last week i had the absolute pleasure of taking a 2-day photography workshop in vancouver by the uber talented erik clausen aka iamaposer. If you don’t know his work, do yourself a favour & check it out. We also had the great fortune of having sean flannigan attend as a guest speaker. I’ve been a huge fan of sean’s work for the last year or so & it was because he was coming to guest speak, that i signed up for erik’s workshop. Only because i hadn’t yet been turned on to the raw & wonderful power that is poser! To say that i came away inspired is an understatement. Inspired, affirmed, kicked in the butt, hopeful & firey. And ever so grateful. To both erik & sean for everything you shared with us, for putting up with my seemingly endless stream of questions, for mike wachniak – for dreaming it up & making it all happen, to reilly & miranda of blue olive photography – for sharing your space & hosting all of us in your amazing studio, to all the other talented attendees who shared their knowledge & questions & brought their amazing creativity & energy to the space, thank you, thank you, thank you.
the 2nd day we got to watch erik shoot. And, although the learning really lay in watching how he works a session, i couldn’t help but snap a few myself as it was such a treat to photograph in an urban environment. Don’t get me wrong, i love my grass & trees, but sometimes a healthy dose of concrete & industry can be a feast for the eyes. The very beautiful jen, of jennifer williams photography – & her equally lovely hubby chad, modeled for the session. And here are a few i captured of them, keeping out of erik’s way…
and some of the poser in action…
