comox lake wedding photographer | jenn & doug

on one of the hottest days of summer, under the bright sunshine, with comox lake & the comox glacier sparkling behind them, jenn & doug walked oh-so-happily into marriage & lucky me, i was there to photograph those sweet moments of their wedding day. The love & support of their family & friends was a joy to be carried in & the speeches had us all in tears & laughter. The super moon rose over it all & there was some serious rocking out on the dance floorView full post »

comox valley engagement | jenn & doug

i first met jenn & doug in vancouver & had a great time finding out about their lives together, their hikes & travels far from the madding crowds & their plans for their upcoming summer wedding at comox lake. A couple of weeks ago, we met up for their engagement celebration session in seal bay provincial park in comox, had a walk amongst the trees & then headed off to explore the coast. I had so.much.fun. And am uber excited for their july wedding. jenn & doug,View full post »

hornby island elopement | valerie & doug

a hornby island elopement story… valerie & doug wanted to get married, to speak out loud their heartfelt vows & promises to one another. And they wanted to elope, to have it be just about one another. And they wanted to do it somewhere beautiful, wrapped in the natural world where they spend so much time. They chose hornby island & their day was perfect. Sweet, simple, honest & heartfelt, indeed. They were married at the edge of the cliff, overlooking tribune bay. TheView full post »

i had SO much fun photographing this fantastic hornby family. karen & jed & their 2 littles are a fabulous part of our hornby community… they host easter egg hunts on their beautiful farm, hook up an incredible rig to tow all the kids around the neighbourhood on halloween & give a lot back to this place. We’re lucky to have them, as neighbours & friends. Jed bought karen this session for her birthday & so, lucky me, i got to spent the afternoon bathed inView full post »

it was nycky-jay’s due date. And we got together on saratoga beach to play with our littles & take a few photos of her beautiful full-term belly. And good thing we did… baby came just 12 hours later. I love that we have these last moments of her pregnancy captured, wrapped in the warmth of the spring sunshine & sand. Thank you, nycky-jay, for all of you. xo View full post »View full post »

hornby island photographer | wrena

my niece wrena is heading back out to the bush. Off tree planting for another season & joining up with an awesome company i worked with for many years, many years ago. There’s something wonderfully full-circle in all of that, for me. She’s a lover of photography, too. So she & i took a little time together to play, with the trees, by the beach, for the joy of it all. View full post »View full post »

vancouver island family photographer

it was about a year & a half ago when i received the sweetest message from nycky-jay. The beginning of a now cherished friendship… two photographers with same aged littles finding our way through the dance of our days. We were pen-pals for much of it (in the modern cyber-space way). And when we finally met in person, it was like getting together with a dear friend i hadn’t seen in a long time. Truth be told, i’m sure that’s actually how it is. nycky-jay is theView full post »

2013 weddings | a wander back through

i’ve done this every year for the last few years… taken the time, early in the new year, to look back through the weddings i photographed the year before. And what strikes me most, year after year, is how absolutely grateful i am to the people who trust me to capture their wedding day in photographs. Who open their hearts & share their love & anticipation, kindness & caring, their friends & family, great food, fantastic dance moves, hilarious, heartfeltView full post »

strathcona park lodge wedding | kareen & russell

strathcona park lodge wedding. karen & russell’s wedding day was truly incredible. One of the most heartfelt & tender unions i’ve had the opportunity to witness & photograph. The love these two share is tangible & true. Rooted in the earth & the ocean, grounded & fluid, deep, abiding & very beautiful. And so was their day. Storm clouds gathered & passed, the wind whipped up while they spoke their vows, the sky cleared & the moon shone bright, asView full post »

vancouver island wedding photographer | kaylie & chad

kaylie & chad were married in the backyard they share with kaylie’s parents. A lot of work went into making the grounds as beautiful as they were on their day. A lot. The forecast called for rain but the sun shone in spite of it. Kaylie got ready with her girls at the beautiful tigh na mara resort &, after their heartfelt ceremony, i got to follow kaylie & chad through rathtrevor park for some time together amongst the old growth trees, the meadows & beach. A bride whoView full post »
