newborn session | sharalin & her boys

back in the long hot days of late summer, i captured my dear niece sharalin in full bloom, along with her little. Awaiting their new addition. And now…he arrived. And it’s hard to imagine the world without him. This is what a newborn session can look like… sweet, simple, honest moments, at home, a slice of life with a new little in your lives. The love, connection, diaper changes, kisses & snuggles. The way mamas whisper in their baby’s ear to help them settle, theView full post »

vancouver bc styled first look – refresh workshop

i’m just back from vancouver. From attending the refresh workshop with the oh-so-talented jennifer moher & hugh whitaker as part of the incredible arc conference. 4 days of inspiration, creativity, heart-opening connections, laughter, new friendships, great food, great music & a dip back into all i love about photography & my place in it. SO good. For the workshop, jen & hugh (who are humans-extraordinaire, no exaggeration) hired 2 of the sweetest people to model for aView full post »

vancouver island lifestyle family photographer almost 2 months ago, emi & i wandered around helliwell park, here on hornby island, she in full bloom awaiting the arrival of sila mei (you can see that session here). Her sweet little made quite an entry. And has been out here in the world for just over a month now. victoria birth photographer | brand new

it’s an incredible gift to get to be a part of watching someone grow up. To have been given the opportunity to love & care for little people who weren’t born of my body but were certainly born in my heart & mind. Whose lives have helped shape mine & whose love has shone light in my darkest corners & made my bright spots a little brighter. And then to get to see them all grown up, in love with someone amazing, married & one day, one very special day, toView full post »

us… in paris.

We went home to belgium over the holidays, to spend time with Marc’s family & reconnect to the land & people there. But we took a detour to paris on the way. And spent 5 jet-lagged, sleep deprived days walking, walking, walking around & through that amazing city. Tess was a blast to travel with. So easy. We walked through museums, along the sienne, through old cobblestone streets that have held people for centuries. The old country, indeed. Before we left, i put theView full post »

tess…

The other day tess & i took a walk around helliwell. And she was happy to have me bring my camera (which doesn’t happen a lot these days). She likes us to have our time to ourselves & not have me behind the lens. I get it. So i’m grateful to capture some of these moments when all is well in our world & she’s shining, as she does… view full post hereView full post »

intimate hornby island wedding | ryan & midori

one of the greatest gifts there can be is the opportunity to stand back & watch our kids marry someone wonderful. This post is a sweet celebration of just that. eight years ago, midori & ryan crossed paths, for a few sweet weeks, before she headed back home to japan. And their dance began. And it’s been a joy watching them find their way through the years, through different countries, different homes, changing careers paths, directions, hopes & dreams. To watch themView full post »

hornby island photographer | wrena

my niece wrena is heading back out to the bush. Off tree planting for another season & joining up with an awesome company i worked with for many years, many years ago. There’s something wonderfully full-circle in all of that, for me. She’s a lover of photography, too. So she & i took a little time together to play, with the trees, by the beach, for the joy of it all. View full post »View full post »
